This presentation provides an overview on a few of the 2022 CDC Clinical Practice Guideline for Prescribing Opioids for Pain, with a focus on applying its recommendations to clinical practice. Participants will learn how to engage patients in informed risk-benefit discussions, consider when opioid therapy may be appropriate for different types and durations of pain, and apply the guideline’s principles to real-world clinical scenarios and treatment planning.
