The Public Health Disease Investigation Training is a dynamic, hands-on workshop designed to empower public health practitioners with the essential skills to identify, investigate, and respond effectively to infectious disease threats. Through interactive case studies and practical exercises, participants will master techniques in case interviewing, contact tracing, and implementing proven control measures to stop outbreaks in their tracks.

 

Learning Objectives: 

  • Demonstrate effective, empathetic, and person-centered communications techniques that support trust-building and rapport in sensitive conversations.
  • Describe and operationalize investigative concepts such as confidentiality, partner elicitation, timeline construction and field prioritization.
  • Demonstrate real time interviewing, navigation of complex disclosures, and prioritization under pressure using in-person role-plays.
