ABOUT US: The Denver Metro STI Coalition (DMSC) is a collective impact group of healthcare professionals and community members established in response to the dramatic increases in STI rates in the Denver Metro Area (DMA). Since 2019, we have grown to represent more than 20 organizations, including state and local health departments, hospital and medical systems, primary care, family planning, community health, FQHCs, universities, urgent care, and adolescent health. The DMSC is supported by the efforts of its members and the Denver Prevention Training Center, as well as by funding from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. DMSC GOALS: Increase access to STI prevention, screening, testing, and treatment. Improve community and provider awareness and education. Reduce STI health disparities. The DMSC works towards these goals through these primary activities: Share updates and resources, both in collaborative meetings and electronically, that guide best practices in STI prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. Create educational spaces where staff who are involved in sexual health services can discuss contemporary challenges and opportunities for improvements. Improve access to sexual health services by fostering an environment for partnership creation between healthcare organizations, community-based organizations, and referral centers. JOIN THE DMSC: Membership in the DMSC is voluntary and can include different levels of engagement: Join our mailing list to receive updates and resources that support STI service delivery. Attend quarterly meetings to learn and dialogue about hot clinical topics, community engagement strategies, and more. Quarterly meetings are generally held virtually from 5:30-7p.m. Serve on our steering committee to help guide the direction and priorities of the coalition. To be added to our mailing list or to get connected to the DMSC, please email DMSC@dhha.org. To access previous resources and presentations, please join the DMSC on GroupSite.
